Most people come for the Kailash Mansarovar circuit, a pilgrimage walked by Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and Bon alike, and a few come to climb, Cho Oyu being the most approachable of the eight-thousand metre peaks. Permits are issued in groups and take time, so this is the one place we ask you to plan further ahead.
