Trekking in Nepal with local experts since 1999.

Established in 1999 by trek guide Rajan Simkhada, Earthbound Expeditions is a fully licensed, locally operated company that has guided more than 10,000 travellers across the Himalaya and beyond.

From one guide's love of the mountains.

Earthbound Expeditions was established in 1999 by Rajan Simkhada, a Himalayan trek guide who set out to build on his love of nature and exploring. What began with a single guide is today a fully licensed and government-registered company that has welcomed more than 10,000 travellers from around the world.

Rajan started out in 1994 as a hotel front-desk assistant, trained as a trekking guide, and - after three years leading trips across the Himalaya - founded the company he still leads with rigour and passion. In 2012–2013 TAAN credited Earthbound as one of the most popular trekking companies in Nepal, ranking it among the top two in 2013.

Today we craft authentic journeys - trekking, expeditions, yoga, pilgrimage tours and volunteering - across 11+ countries, maintaining a 98% satisfaction rate and a 99% safety record. Whether you dream of Everest Base Camp, Annapurna, Upper Mustang, Manaslu or a private luxury Himalayan adventure, we design the trip around you rather than around a standard package.

What we stand for

Authenticity at the core
Carefully crafted packages - trekking, expeditions, yoga, pilgrimage and volunteering - for a genuinely authentic travel experience across 11+ countries.
Value for money
Sustainable, honest pricing. We never exploit our reputation to overcharge - you pay a fair price for a real experience.
Safety first
Certified, trained staff and rigorous safety protocols underpin our 99% safety record in the high Himalaya.
Making a change
Personalised experiences with responsive communication - every itinerary is shaped around the traveller, not a template.
Trustworthiness
We stay available and accountable before, during and after your trip - that constancy is why travellers come back.
You can't grow without giving
We reinvest in the communities we travel through with local jobs, scholarships and health camps.
Logistics, handled
Trekking in Nepal is flights, permits, hotels, teahouses, transfers, guides and porters. We run all of it, including the reroute when a mountain flight cancels.
Personal care throughout
From the arrivals hall at Kathmandu to the trek and back again, someone here is responsible for your day. Guests arrive as clients and tend to leave as friends.
Teahouse to helicopter
Classic teahouse trekking through to luxury Everest journeys with helicopter legs and tailor-made Himalayan travel, priced honestly at either end.
